Rosie's Health Tips #1

Please note the irony in this title.

Have just read in my new cookbook Darina Allen's Forgotten Skills of Cooking that cinnamon is supposed to reduce cholesterol. Which means that the Norwegian Cinnamon Buns are actually health food! Or at least, maybe the cinnamon will cancel out the effect of all the butter, sugar etc. Do you see where I'm coming from?

    and Chocolate is made from cocoa which grows on trees so can I call it a vegetable...please nicely

    (not sure my jeans are too convinced by the arguement but mind over matter ...possibly?

  2. I put cinnamon on my coffee, at home.
    Lets me get away with dessert when I am not at home.
    It does make sense, doesn't it? ;-)

  3. Val - I used to 'believe' (i.e. tell myself) that if I ate a piece of fruit alongside a chocolate bar, somehow the health value of the fruit would cancel out the damage of the chocolate. And I wonder why I am 'well-covered'! Thanks for starting to comment on my blog. Nice to get to know you!

    Merisi - you live in Vienna. You are doomed in terms of dessert consumption. No point fighting it.I put on 2 stone when I lived in Vienna as a student- because of Kaffee und Kuchen. Haven't had chance to browse your blog yet for mentions of my favourite cafes. Saving it for my own coffee and cake break later in the day. Cant wait. Thanks for commenting on my blog.
